Portfolio
SGE served as General Contractor for the Eden Valley Head Start Early Learning Center, partnering with A&E Architectural and Engineering Group of Edmonton, Alberta. This project holds special significance for our team. SGE has built long-standing, trusted relationships with Indigenous communities, and we are proud that many members of our own staff come from the communities we serve. The Eden Valley Head Start Early Learning Center represents not only a construction project, but a shared investment in future generations. SGE completed all civil and underground work in-house using local staff, ensuring quality control while creating meaningful employment within the community. Our team also delivered the full structural scope with local personnel. While SGE led the project as General Contractor, all finishing work was performed by local Indigenous tradespeople, reinforcing our commitment to community capacity-building and economic participation.
Delivered a province-led infrastructure program for the Government of Alberta involving the coordinated replacement of more than 80 private residential wastewater systems. The project required disciplined scheduling, regulatory compliance, and consistent quality control across multiple sites to ensure reliable, long-term environmental performance.
Our team was the sole private contractor selected by the Alberta Government for a large-scale flood recovery project. Our team managed over 150 personnel and handled more than $8M in project revenue.
Since 2015, we've provided ongoing municipal water and sewer repairs, system maintenance, and key infrastructure upgrades to support the community's essential services.
Following a devastating wildfire, SGE mobilized immediately to support a community in urgent need. What began as a debris cleanup and contaminated material disposal effort quickly evolved into a long-term rebuilding initiative once we witnessed the full scope of the destruction. Our team remained on-site to help restore not just properties, but lives. We constructed multiple new homes for displaced families, working closely with residents and local stakeholders to ensure the rebuild reflected the needs of the community. As the project expanded, SGE led the comprehensive development of a five-acre site, including site stripping and preparation, installation of both deep and shallow services, and full infrastructure coordination. Building on this foundation, we delivered an 18,000 sq. ft. industrial facility for an oil and gas client, supporting economic recovery and long-term regional resilience. This project stands as a testament to SGE’s commitment to disaster response, community partnership, and full-scope development — from emergency mitigation to permanent reconstruction and industrial growth.
SGE served as prime contractor for the emergency design-build replacement of a failed water service riser located beneath an active facility. The blowout caused significant subsurface erosion and compromised both the building foundation and adjacent watermain infrastructure. The damaged line supplied the facility’s fire suppression system, resulting in immediate operational shutdown under penalty-driven contract conditions and Airport Authority oversight. High groundwater levels and soil washout created challenging geotechnical conditions requiring engineered stabilization. SGE designed and implemented a permanent structural solution utilizing screw pile foundations to restore long-term stability and mitigate future settlement risk. Our integrated design-build approach and in-house civil construction capabilities enabled rapid assessment, engineered redesign, and accelerated installation, minimizing downtime and restoring full operational capacity within a compressed schedule.
